<br>Chapter V: Grooming

<br>Daily grooming is vital for maintaining a Silkie’s coat and preventing tangles. A grooming kit should include a bristle brush, guinea pig comb, soft brush, and round-edged scissors. Brush in the direction the hair lays, and take care when brushing through tangles or matts.

<br>Regular haircuts, especially around the rump, keep the coat manageable and clean. Ear cleaning, every two weeks, is also important, along with regular nail trims to prevent overgrowth. Although not often, bathing your Silkie helps remove grim and keep them clean.

<br>Hay, particularly Timothy hay, should make up 80% of a Silkie’s diet, aiding digestion and dental health.
